The journey to Chronixx anticipated album, Dela Splash keeps on getting exciting with perhaps hints of the Jamaican singer’s sound looking to be more unboxed from the earlier releases we are hearing. Dela Splash includes the previously released Dela Move and Same Prayer.
Produced by UK’s Pantha and the chromatic visuals directed by Meji Alabi, the new track, Cool As The Breeze/Friday is a dedication to Kingston, Jamaica. “This tune is about everyday people of the world, but really a song about us in a Jamaican life that we live,” Chronixx said in a press release.
The visuals were shot right before the Covid-19 lockdown. Chronixx adds,
“Making sure we have the right music, culture, and energy to keep our mind uplifted throughout the struggle and building a better life for ourselves. No matter the intensity of the heat, and no matter how hot the reality get, we still haffi remain cool as the breeze you know. It’s the balance of being able to go through all the different forces of life you know and stay up… it’s an upliftment song.”
The new visuals also showcase Chronixx rocking the ultra-modern Clarks Originals’ new white Desert Boot 221 and Desert Treks. Celebrating Jamican culture, the deejay deejay teams up with Clarks showcasing their latest release while flying one-seat sofa through Tivoli Gardens in Kingston, Jamaica. Chronixx’s Dela Splash is slated for later this year and follows his 2017 debut Chronology, which was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album.
